It looks like we are approaching the end of the lockdown period, with the current plan being to relax Shielding and suspend Shielding support services on 1st August (subject to next week’s figures continuing to decrease).
Due to a marked drop in demand, the OPAL service on a Sunday has already been withdrawn, and there will be no more OPAL service on a Saturday afternoon from 25th July. From Saturday 1st August, the new OPAL hours will be:
Monday: | 9:00 – 5:00 |
Tuesday: | 9:00 – 5:00 |
Wednesday: | 9:00 – 5:00 |
Thursday: | 9:00 – 5:00 |
Friday: | 9:00 – 5:00 |
Saturday: | 9:00 – 1:00 |
Sunday: | Closed |
OPAL remains committed to supporting the people of East Dunbartonshire throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, so the volunteer shopping and prescription delivery service will continue for the time being, albeit slightly smaller than it was at the height of lockdown!
In the event of another wave of infections or further restrictions of movement, we will of course react to that as required, and we hope that the community spirit that has been demonstrated during this time will continue, and that we can continue to support the vulnerable people in our communities.
So, please remember that you can call OPAL about all manner of things – not just shopping and prescriptions – OPAL is the single point of contact for information, advice, and access to services in East Dunbartonshire. Give us a call on 0141 438 2347 or email mail@opaleastdun.org.uk, and one of our OPAL advisers can discuss whatever it is you need. We look forward to hearing from you.
