From 6pm on Friday 20th November, East Dunbartonshire will be entering COVID Protection Level 4 for a minimum period of three weeks (ending 11th December). You can find the full details of the restrictions in the new level we are moving into here: COVID Protection Level 4.
The Chief Medical Officer will be writing to those who are on the Shielding list in the next few days – including those who were not advised to shield back in March but may now be considered particularly at risk because of changes in their health. That letter is expected to advise people who are Shielding to minimise contact people from outside their own household if they can, not to use public transport, to avoid shopping at busy times and to limit the number of times they visit the shops.
We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone who has health concerns, not just those on the Shielding list. That is why we are stepping up our response to the pandemic, and building on our volunteer capacity to deliver shopping, prescriptions, and supporting people who are Shielding or self-isolating with the other little day-to-day things we take for granted.
From Saturday 21st November, OPAL will be extending its Saturday hours until 5pm for at least the three weeks that we expect to be in COVID Protection Level 4. When the Scottish Government reviews the situation in three weeks’ time, we will review whether we need to continue with our extended hours.
