A new ruling means that bus drivers will do more to support wheelchair users when someone is occupying a wheelchair space on a bus. This case derived from an incident when a wheelchair user was refused entry to a bus when a woman with a buggy took priority of the space. An important aspect of this ruling that must be noted is that it is not a legal requirement for people to move but drivers of First Bus will now take steps to encourage them to do so.
